    Which JVC camcorder?

    Which computer?

    Standard definition? High definition?

Manufacturer and model number, please – at worst, at least tell us what it records video to. And which computer? Operating system is OK – but hardware manufacturer and model number will be a LOT more helpful to provide you useful information.

VHS, VHS-C, hi8 and other analog camcorders require an analog/digital converter.

Standard definition DVD camcorders require a drawer loading DVD drive and a video ripper.

High definition DVD camcorders require an editor that can deal with MTS files.

Hard disc drive and flash memory require USB and a converter or an editor that can understand the compressed video files.

miniDV tape and Digital 8 tape require a firewire cable and a firewire port on the computer – USB won’t work.

I’m with little dog, we need to know more.

If it’s a minidv camcorder, you need a firewire connection.
If it’s a minidvd camcorder you have to convert the files using a file converting program like (free download).
If it’s a hard disc, then download using the USB cord.
If it’s a flash drive, you can either use a card reader or USB and copy and paste the photo’s from the card to the file of your choice.
