I'm with little dog, we need to know more.

If it's a minidv camcorder, you need a firewire connection.
If it's a minidvd camcorder you have to convert the files using a file converting program like (free download).
If it's a hard disc, then download using the USB cord.
If it's a flash drive, you can either use a card reader or USB and copy and paste the photo's from the card to the file of your choice.

Which JVC camcorder?

Which computer?

Standard definition? High definition?

Manufacturer and model number, please - at worst, at least tell us what it records video to. And which computer? Operating system is OK - but hardware manufacturer and model number will be a LOT more helpful to provide you useful information.

VHS, VHS-C, hi8 and other analog camcorders require an analog/digital converter.

Standard definition DVD camcorders require a drawer loading DVD drive and a video ripper.

High definition DVD camcorders require an editor that can deal with MTS files.

Hard disc drive and flash memory require USB and a converter or an editor that can understand the compressed video files.

miniDV tape and Digital 8 tape require a firewire cable and a firewire port on the computer - USB won't work.
